iCHA Worker-Driven Model: Empowering Communities, Transforming Primary Healthcare
iKure iCHA Worker driven model
To overcome the fragmented and inconsistent delivery of primary healthcare in underserved regions, iKure has developed a community-first, women-led model anchored by iCHA Workers (iKure Community Health Activists). This innovative approach integrates grassroots leadership with digital healthcare ecosystems, delivering services that are accessible, inclusive, and sustainable across rural, semi-urban, and urban landscapes.
The Heart of Our Model: Women from the Community
At the core of the iCHA model are local women leaders selected from within the communities they serve. These women are rigorously trained in primary healthcare delivery, digital tools, patient counselling, disease surveillance, and referral coordination. With continued mentorship and upskilling, they emerge as trusted health champions, helping bridge the gap between remote populations and formal health systems.
Catalysts for Change at the Last Mile
The iCHA Workers act as a powerful force in:
Delivering doorstep care for MCH, NCDs, and general health conditions
Mobilizing communities through health awareness and behavioural change communication
Facilitating teleconsultations and follow-ups via iKure’s WHIMS platform
Coordinating with Hub & Spoke Clinics for referrals, diagnostics, and advanced care
Promoting gender equity by turning women into health entrepreneurs and changemakers
Through their work, iCHA Workers transform the community from within—not only improving health outcomes but also generating livelihood opportunities, fostering gender empowerment, and advancing the agenda of inclusive rural development.
Building Synergies for Holistic Impact
We partner with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Anganwadi workers, Panchayats, and other local institutions to create community-responsive health programs. This integrated approach ensures that families are actively involved in care-seeking, adherence, and preventive behaviours—laying the foundation for long-term, sustainable impact.
